Volunteer EMT/Firefighter Experience and USCG…?

Gaining those skills is always a good idea. In the Coast guard, you might well be involved in Search & Rescue, and your EMT training will give you a head start on becoming a EMS provider in the Coast Guard. Also, if your eventual assignment involves patrol in heavily recreational boating areas, your firefighting experience will serve you well. Go for it!!
