Sweet 16 help please?

I'm having a sweet 16 its 6 months from now but i need to start planning. First off i need a theme. I want something that isn't pink. My friends had parties like Carly and the Chocolate factory and a night under the stars. I was thinking a night in new york since my birthday is new years eve, but im not sure what i would do. Any suggestions would be nice thank you.
