Did Adam in effect give birth to Eve?

we was told as in the bible,they took a rib,is that more believable than him actually being pregnant. it may seem not natural for man to create women as women is to create men,if humans are so advanced why do we need 2 different sex's,we are talking of God the almighty whom can do anything why go to the trouble of giving men all that grief,by creating marriage.
