Will an ECM can able to control the engine power in a vehicle..?

Good Eve Sir, I want to whether a ECM (Electronic Control Module) can control the Engine power in a vehicle. We know ECM can control many systems in a vehicle like the injection system, ignition system etc., Can the ECM able to control the Engine Power.
